A couple of hours after it was announced that Lionel Messi had won the Ballon d’Or for a record-breaking fifth time, the sports manufacturer received a rather unusual question from a lad with a penchant for Antoine Griezmann called Simon.

"Need dating tips, @adidas” Simon tweeted Adidas. “Shall I drop her, if she says Ronaldo > Messi?”

Adidas, who boast Messi among their list of high-profile clients, responded by saying: “A great relationship is built on trust. How can you trust someone who says Messi isn't the greatest of all time ?"
