Hausa music legend dies at 72



Famous Hausa music legend, Sanni Aliyu Dandawo, has died at the age of 72. He passed away after a prolonged battle with diabetes.
His family confirmed that he died at his residence in Yauri, Kebbi State on Sunday, April 3, 2016.

A source in the family said, “Dandawo died at his home in Yauri, Yauri Local Government of Kebbi State on Sunday evening after a protracted illness,”
Bala Ibn Na’Allah, the Deputy Senate Leader commiserated with the family of he deceased. He described Dandawo as a musical legend who contributed to promoting peace and development through music.
He also offered prayers on behalf of his family, hoping that Allah would grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Dandawo was buried according to the Muslim rites, which requires that the dead be buried as soon as they pass on.
